Dr. Lewis H. Berman, Director

Dr. Lewis H. Berman, who was born in New York City, wrote in his Stuyvesant High School yearbook that he decided to be a veterinarian when he was 12. After graduating from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, he founded Park East Animal Hospital in 1961 to meet what he perceived as a need for excellent, rather than commonplace, animal health care. Currently, Dr. Berman is on the board of trustees of Bide-A-Wee Home Association. He is an executive Vice President of the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons and a board member and the New York City Coordinator of Cornell University's Veterinary College Development Board. Dr. Berman and his wife, Amanda, have two cats, Rosie and Seiji, and a Jack Russell Terrier named Smudge.
